Research Activities
Research of the Faculty
of Electrical Engineering covers a wide range of topics in
electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications and
computers.
Theoretical and experimental research is carried out both by
the research centers, and of the individual research
clusters, in collaboration with colleagues at other research
centers.
Experimental research is conducted in different research
centers and laboratories, being involved also alumni.
Experimental research activities include national and
international research projects and students’ projects as
teaching task.
The most remarkable expansion has recently been evident in the area of
renewable energies, electrical drives, the areas
of communications, signal processing, computer vision and computer networks.
Directions of research of the Faculty are:
Conversion of renewable energies (including wind, photovoltaic, fuel cells, biogas)
Energetic optimization of electric drives systems
Advanced hardware and control structures for static power converters
Active Power Filters and Power Quality
Nonlinear Control of Servo Systems
Parallel computing and systems
Computer communication networks
Artificial intelligence systems
Autonomous vehicles
Electronic systems and devices
Computer-aided design
Very large scale integration (VLSI)
Signal processing
Image processing
Computer vision
Communication and information theory
Automatic control
Power systems and electrical drives
Wave propagation and electromagnetic engineering
Electronic devices
Solid-state electronics
Biological signals and systems
Electric Power Efficiency and Quality
Reliability, Maintainability, Diagnosis
The scientific research is developed around Research Grants with the Romanian National University Research Council (NURC) and National Excellency Research Programms. The research results are made known by means of journals, or International and National Conferences Proceedings.
